The Bermuda Beach Art Festival is a celebration of Bermuda's beautiful beaches expressed in art right on and in the sand. Beaches across the island are adorned with amazing beach art that only lasts until the next high tide washes them away. The first festival, which has now become an annual event, was held in March 2012 and saw renowned Beach Artist Sam Dougados join us from France to hold free clinics and master classes on beach art prior to the event. Sam was a huge inspiration to all and his beautiful beach art a revelation. Sponsored by The Alliance Francaise Bermuda, the first Bermuda Beach Art Festival was a wonderful success and saw participants across the island compete for the winning design.
The second Bermuda Beach Art Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2013. Entry is free and we invite artists of all levels to participate. Once again there will be a Play Mobil competition for children and free yoga on the beach, provided by top yoga instructors on 3 beaches, along with water sport demonstrations including windsurfing, kite surfing and stand up paddle board demonstrations at Horseshoe Bay. A few other really exciting additions to the event are planned for next year and a well known Beach Artist from the Jersey Islands, UK, will be our guest Beach Artist and Judge in '13.
Tourist entries are welcome! If you're planning a Bermuda vacation in March, please join us.
